Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2019: A Sparkling Entrance

10.05.2019

Love is the inspirational theme for the collection created in the run-up to the Cannes International Film Festival – to which Chopard has been an official partner since 1998.

Caroline Scheufele, co-president and artistic director of the Maison, offers a sneak peek preview of some of the 72 creations – matching the number of Festival edition – composing this year’s collection.

First of all, here are jewellery watches. On a wide, finely wrought bracelet set with 60 carats of diamonds forming a sculptural lacework pattern, the watch dial – itself set with eight marquise-cut diamonds arranged like a windrose against a mother-of-pearl backdrop – is framed by two precious coloured stones. On one version, these are two 3-carat Mozambique rubies; the second bears two 4.2-carat fancy light yellow diamonds; while the third is adorned with two sapphires of 8.7 carat.

A jaw-dropping jewellery set composed of a ring and a pair of earrings shaped like exotic orchids. A gold stem and buds are adorned with patiently set tsavorites. Their labella bearing white opals radiating the pinkish shimmer of tinted titanium. The petals on the earrings are entirely paved with diamonds and amethysts, while those of the ring are delicately adorned with pink sapphires and diamonds.

Another set composed of a necklace, a ring, and a pair of earrings within which heart-cut tanzanites, Paraiba tourmalines, amethysts and diamonds meet and mingle inside light and airy circles made of white gold and titanium. The heart cut as well as the dazzling coloured stones represent – according to jewellers – ‘the many facets of love’.
