Three new auto-inspired chronographs dedicated to different periods in the history of Scuderia Ferrari
Scuderia Ferrari is celebrating the 90th Anniversary and its long-standing partner Hublot is marking the occasion with the new Big Bang Scuderia Ferrari watches. The novelty is available in three versions and should not be mistaken with another Ferrari-inspired 2019 Hublot piece. All three are powered by the automatic UNICO movement featuring a flyback column-wheel chronograph with minute counter, small seconds, a date, and a 72-hour power reserve. The real difference are the materials used in 45-mm cases as well as the overall appearance and feel of each watch. The Platinum version is inspired by the early years of Scuderia Ferrari. The shimmer of metal parts, the leather from the bucket seats and the brushed look of the dashboard are represented here by the platinum case and the stitched perforated strap. Its dial evokes old-fashioned speedometers with its calendar underlined in yellow.
The 3D carbon used for the case of the second edition reflects the present day Scuderia Ferrari. Its strap is made from Nomex – the fire-resistant synthetic fibre used to make racing driver’s suits. Its colour code is black and red, – the colours currently used by Scuderia Ferrari for its single-seater Formula 1 cars. The third model is instantly recognizable by its transparent case made of sapphire, an innovative material that is hard to work, giving it a resolutely futuristic style. Each piece will be produced in a limited edition of 90. 10 ‘collector’ sets with all three watches will also be available. The prices are CHF 38'900 for the Platinum edition, CHF 32'900 for the 3D Carbon edition, and CHF 65'000 for the Sapphire edition.
