To mark the 8th edition of the charity auction, the Swiss manufacture has created a unique skeletonized piece.
The entirely transparent 45-mm case reveals an open-worked architecture showcasing all the gears of the manually wound movement with a 115-hour power reserve, including the tourbillon cage at 6. Sculpted into the sapphire – one of the most difficult materials to machine – are the signature edges, bevels and facets of the artist Richard Orlinski. According to the brand, ‘overcoming this obstacle provides the children affected by the degenerative neuromuscular disease with a message full with hope: you can go beyond your dreams, as long as you make every effort to achieve them’.
The white gold bezel, set with 54 baguette-cut topazes, echoes the faceted case. A stylized skeletonized calibre merges into the transparent, rubber strap in the blue color. The watch will be delivered in a transparent gift box, supported by the famous Wild Kong by Richard Orlinski. The future owner will also have the opportunity to meet with Richard Orlinski at his art gallery in Paris. The estimate price for the Classic Fusion Tourbillon Sapphire Orlinski is CHF 160,000 - 180,000. The sale of the watch will benefit research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The auction will take place on 9 November 2019 in Geneva.
