Another subtle upgrade from the chronograph-oriented Swiss brand, this time with some extra modern feel.

Known and loved first and foremost for its chronographs, TAG Heuer has enough novelties coming out each year to satisfy nearly everyone’s taste and style. And while another chrono might not seem such a big news, the Carrera Calibre 16 upgrade is quite a solid offer with a nice contemporary touch. The combination of either blue or black dial, a matching ceramic fixed bezel, and the three counters, slightly grown up in size, looks quite modern, bearing in mind we’re talking one of the most traditional and classical layouts in the industry. Various red or orange – depending on the version – accents further add to the sporty character, while the date window at 3 o’clock completes a perfect symmetry of the dial indication.

The watch comes in a 41 mm stainless steel case with a solid caseback, offering a 100-meter water-resistance. Beating inside is the namesake automatic Calibre 16 offering a 42-hour power reserve. It features central hours, minutes, and chrono seconds, small seconds at 9, and vertically aligned 30-minute and 12-hour counters. Both versions are complemented by either a steel bracelet or perforated leather strap – black with red stitching or brown with orange stitching – priced $4,450 and $4,300 accordingly.
