Another version of a luxury smart-watch by the Swiss brand, now specially aimed at the golf aficionados. And there’s a new dedicated app too.
Among the most distinguishing features of this classy 45 mm timepiece is the black ceramic bezel ring, which is laser engraved with a scale of 1 to 18 filled in with white lacquer – indicating the 18 holes in a round of golf. The bold black ceramic lugs complement the sandblasted case and caseback, which are fashioned from black PVD titanium. Single push button in steel with black carbide coating and black line and a microphone located at 3 o’clock. The watch is worn on a white synthetic leather strap with green stitching, which can easily be change for a black rubber strap. The touchscreen is covered with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The smart-watch is powered by Intel Atom processor and equipped with multiple sensors, such as GPS, NFC, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a tilt detection sensor, a microphone and a vibrations haptics engine. It boasts 4 GB of storage and a battery life of 25 hours. The water-resistance is basic 50 metres (5 bar).
In addition to the watch, TAG Heuer has developed an app for iOS and Android smartphones that is free and can be used not only on the Golf Edition but on the other TAG Heuer Connected Modular smartwatches as well. It delivers key insights to improve performance, records shot distances and scores, and displays 39,000 golf courses around the world with precise 2D and 3D mapping technology. The database is constantly updated. Besides the Golf app it also can do anything that the TAG Heuer Connected watches can do, including sending messages, receiving notifications, playing music and downloading other apps. Three golf balls stamped with the TAG Heuer logo are also included in the special packaging.
