William Shakespeare’s masterpiece has inspired the maison’s new High Jewellery collection.
Van Cleef & Arpels Romeo & Juliet
The new Van Cleef & Arpelscollection boasts over 100 unique pieces telling the story through both – the main characters and the context or setting for their love. The symbols of Verona, some famous scenes from the tragedy along with the finery and costumes of the Renaissance: all seem to come to life in these mastery creations. According to the jewellers, the red and blue tones that dominate the color palette are inspired by the two families’ coats of arms: the Capulets for Juliet and the Montagues for Romeo. A blend of the two shades, mauve evokes the passion of the young lovers, while green echoes the hope that fills their hearts.

Balcone Clip. White gold, rose gold, emeralds, tsavorite garnets, diamonds. The balcony scene is one of the highlights of the Shakespeare’s play. This clip depicts the setting for their secret vows: a garland of ivy spills from a diamond balcony, its foliage brought to life by the different tones of emeralds, tsavorite garnets and diamonds. The two lovers are depicted in rose gold on the back of the piece, which is also entirely set with gems.

Lovers’ Path Bracelet. White gold, yellow gold, 3 emerald-cut emeralds of 14.17 carats, 13.71 carats and 11.90 carats, diamonds.
