A couple of elegant steel timepieces for him and for her, praising the love for the famous Cuban cigars.
Joining with the Romeo Y Julieta cigar brand, Zenith is offering a truly special way to celebrate the 145th anniversary of its partner: a set of two quiet attractive and colorful watches. The gradient-colored dials decorated with a sun-ray guilloche pattern – blue for him and red for her – indicate central hours and minutes, small seconds at 9, and finally, a moonphase at 6. The most obvious difference from the regular Elite Moonphase watches comes in a form of a moonphase itself. Instead of a classical arch-shaped opening on the dial showcasing only one moon, the guys at Zenith went for two equal apertures. This way, both characters – the portraits of both lovers act as a Moon symbols here – appear simultaneously. And of course, there was enough dial space to put a Romeo y Julieta logo just slightly underneath the center, after all it’s a commemorative set.
Both ‘Romeo’ and ‘Julieta’ versions are available in steel cases measuring 40.5 mm and 36 mm respectively, and come complemented by matching alligator leather straps. The ladies’ piece also shines with a diamond-set bezel featuring 75 precious stones. Both watches in the Zenith Elite Moonphase Romeo y Julieta edition are powered by the in-house Elite 692 automatic movement with a hacking seconds function and 48 hours of power reserve. The tricky-looking moonphase is adjusted by the crown. Watches can be purchased only in pairs, and the total production is limited to 145 sets – an obvious nod to the Romeo y Julieta ́s cigar brand 145th anniversary.
