The newest addition to the racing inspired collection joins the starting grid.
Car inspired timepieces aren’t exactly a new thing. There’s a whole tradition of implementing various car-design elements into watch dials, cases, straps, and movements. The British brand isn’t new to the game either, and certainly knows a thing or two about it. As the name suggests, the new Jaguar D-Type is aesthetically linked to the eponymous racing legend loved for its smooth-line silhouette and mighty roar. Coming in a 43 mm steel case with a blue dial, contrasting white chronograph counters, and a domed sapphire crystal, it does radiate a strong vintage personality. And bearing in mind the crown decorated with a Dunlop tyre tread as well as the tachymeter dial ring mimicking the speedometer, there’s a lot to love here if you’re a Jaguar fan.
The Bremont Jaguar D-Type is powered by the nicely finished BE-50AE automatic movement seen in action through the transparent caseback. The shape of its oscillating weight clearly represents the Jaguar steering wheel. The watch is complimented by the blue racing-style leather strap and is water resistant up to 100 meters. Limited to 300 pieces, each Jaguar D-Type comes in leather wallet packaging signed by none other than Ian Callum, Jaguar's director of design. The price is £5,500.
