The large piston-like damascus steel case and four black dials – this new watch by the Swiss-Italian brand will surely turn heads.
The metal of the 49 mm case and of the bezel shows a texture characterized by irregular ‘waves’ that create shiny and opaque effects. Against this backdrop stand out the distinctive four black DLC-titanium dials, responsible for 4 independent time zones. Each one indicating minutes and hours, while the date and the red seconds hand are located on the bottom right dial and top right dial. The indexes and the hands are covered with Super-LumiNova. The functions of every single dial are regulated via their corresponding crowns.
The case explores a technique used for more than a thousand years: the steel has to be stretched and folded down on itself many times, in order to be forged. The metal effect is interrupted on the case middle by a black DLC-titanium band, emulating pistons with black teflon anti-seize insert. The watch is powered by a self-winding in-house caliber MV 8802 visible through the transparent caseback. It runs on a 28’800-vph frequency and has a power reserve of about 48 hours. The strap, directly attached to the case via a system that does not require lugs, is in black leather with red stitching. The price of Icon Damascus is 10.900 Euro.
